The Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation (GPSIF), is an all volunteer non-profit organization. GPSIF was established in 1984 by a group of Grosse Pointe Shores residents to initiate and fund community enhancements.
Some of your friends and neighbors may be trustees of the GPSIF. Talk to them about the reasons to join. Click here to view the list of trustees.
The Foundation is best known for the landscaping beautification and overall improvement of picturesque Lake Shore Road. In that important effort, the Foundation: planted hundreds of trees; replaced sod in the traffic islands and lake side areas; created landscape gardens, installed a sprinkler system and replaced old street signs with lighted signs.
In addition to the work on Lake Shore Road, the Foundation also helped with improvements and amenities for residents’ and guests’ enjoyment of the beautiful Grosse Pointe Shores Park such as the new playscape and park lighting.
The Foundation’s projects are wide ranging - from the practical to the aesthetic. The funds for these projects come directly from your contributions. Please become a member of GPSIF today and participate in the enhancement of our community.
The 3rd annual Celebrate, Decorate, Entertain luncheon and fundraiser will be held at the Country Club of Detroit on October 12, 2017, from 11 a.m.
