Foundation Supports ARBOR DAY event

Residents flocked to the Village of Grosse Pointe Shores May 6th, 2012 Arbor Day Observance to participate in the Fun Run and partake in refreshments provided by the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation. 

Foundation trustees serve snacks at the Hop on Down Easter Egg Hunt

On March 31st Grosse Pointe Shores residents and their families enjoyed hunting for eggs in Osius Park. After the egg hunt they visited the pavillion to have a snack at the GPSIF-sponsored table. 

 

2012 Foundation Officers elected

The 2012 GPSIF officers were elected at annual meeting on March 26, 2012 and past-President Lynn Galbenski summarized the highlights of 2011.  Click 'read more' to see Lynn's summary. The new officers are:

2012 GPSIF Annual Meeting scheduled for March 26, 2012

The annual meeting for GPSIF will be held in the City offices on Monday, March 26th 2012, to vote for a new slate of officers and review other Foundation business. 

A meeting notice will be mailed to Life Members and all current 2012 members. Current members are those resident households who paid 2012 dues (dues paid after October 31st of the prior year).

Up for approval is a revision to Article III of the bylaws. This revision can be reviewed in the city offices or by clicking on this link.  

2011 Holiday Home Tour brings residents to Field House

During the Holiday Home tour event, many residents visited the new Schroeder Field House for the first time. While viewing the decorated building, residents enjoyed hot cider and cookies.  Sales were brisk for decorative items designed by members of the Special Events committee, with Sunday sales exceeding $2000. 

Overall 150 residents and their guests enjoyed the afternoon event and 50 also attended the brunch at Lochmoor Club.  This was the most well attended home tour to date.

The holiday home tour was a great success. The committee has a few poinsettias available for purchase. Tree Lighting ceremony attended by 150 residents

The Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation  provided hot cocoa for residents who attended the Village tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, November 27th. GPSIF Trustees Brett Marshall,  Karl Tech and Lynn Galbenski served the hot cocoa and were assisted by Lynn's husband and daughter.   Attendees were entertained by the Our Lady Star of the Sea 5th graders  who sang carols. "Boo Fest" treats shared with residents on October 26, 2011

Rain didn't deter residents from bringing their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to enjoy the festivities at the city's 2011 "Boo Fest". As always, one of the favorite stops along the scary adventure was the Foundation refreshment tent. GPSIF trustees and members served cold cider, hot chocolate, donuts and candy canes to the hungry crowd.
