The 3rd annual Celebrate, Decorate, Entertain luncheon and fundraiser will be held at the Country Club of Detroit on October 12, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year the event will feature 12 tablescapes with monthly themes. The committee will also construct gift baskets along the monthly theme, center pieces will feature wine and, as usual, there will be some surprises. People wishing to support the event with a donation can contact the Village for information on Fork, Knife and Spoon sponsorships.
This year the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation is having a holiday home tour on Sunday, December 4. The tour runs from 1 PM to 4 PM. Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the tour. Buy your tickets now at the Grosse Pointe Shores village offices. In addition to the homes on tour, the Schroeder field house will be decorated with seasonal items available purchase. Please come by and enjoy the free refreshments. There is an optional brunch at Lockmoore club from 11 AM to 1 PM. The cost for this brunch is also $20.

Thursday, October 4th is the date to save for the luncheon at the Country Club of Detroit. Those who attended this luncheon in 2015 know that it is an event not to be missed. Newly elected city council member Tina Ellis has been appointed as the city liaison to the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation. This position was formerly held by city council member Bob Barrette. Trustees extend their sincere thanks to Bob for his many years of service to this organization. 1/16/2016
Each year the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation asks residents to provide an unrestricted donation to the Foundation to provide funding for the many projects that are completed throughout the community. Details of the benefits to donors and the community can be seen by clicking this link. The annual giving period runs from November 1st through October 31st of the following year.
Trustees are requested to attend a special meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 7 pm in the Village Offices to Vote on the Pavilion project. Susan Walton and Brett Marshall have been working on the details of this project with Mark Wollenwebber, Bob Barette and Mike Monahan.
GPSIF's own special events committee has come up with another terrific idea. This time the event is a luncheon at the Country Club of Detroit on Thursday, October 15th. This is not a run-of-the-mill luncheon. This is an event that you'll want to attend with your friends and family. Bring your mother, your aunts, your cousins your daughters and your BFFs. The luncheon feature decorating and entertaining demostrations, a silent auction along with a boutique filled with "Party-to-Go" baskets, holiday decor and more.

Just in time for the summer, Trustees approved the purchase of three additional benches for installation along harbor. These benches will be a welcome addition for boaters, strollers and fisherman alike.
