GPSIF Project Awards
Throughout Grosse Pointe Shores you can see projects planned and funded by the Grosse Pointe Shores Improvement Foundation. The gallery of photographs on our Home page highlights many of the Foundation’s improvements to the community. Over the years, Grosse Pointe Shores has been was granted several awards as a result of GPSIF projects. Recent awards are:
1987 Sesquicentennial Beautification Award from Keep Michigan Beautiful
2003 Keep Michigan Beautiful Award
2005 Grosse Pointe Shores granted ‘Tree City ’ status
2008 Keep Michigan Beautiful President’s Award - playscape and park lighting projects

Current/Recent Projects
In 2011 GPSIF built Schroeder Field House in Schroeder Park, mulched trees on Lake Shore islands, continued year two of a shared replacement program for the decorative lamp posts installed on Lake Shore road, and purchased Pickleball equipment for the court in Osius Park. Planned Projects
GPSIF plans to trim trees and update plantings on the Lake Shore islands north of Vernier Road. This is possible due to a generous donation from a resident. Also funded through this donation, the Beautification Committee will add spring bulbs to the islands.
Other planned 2011 projects include planting trees in the fall and trimming trees on the Lake Shore islands south of Vernier Road.There are 0 images in this gallery.
